Nicholas Oakwell Couture AW13

I was lucky enough to act as Second Assistant to Georgina Graham @ Management Artists for Nicholas Oakwell Couture Autumn Winter 2013.

The show was presented in the Ballroom at Claridges in London, with styling by Phoebe Arnold and hair by James Rowe.

You can watch the show here on Youtube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6y-XdL0vMUk

To quote Georgina Graham,

"The reference for the show was Paris rooftops at 4am and the iconic 1942 film Cat People which had our models walking through the most stunning and elaborate set created within the ballroom with smoky, feline, blown out eyes and dark crimson lips wearing exquisite couture gowns and millions of pounds worth ofGraff Diamonds. It was truly mind blowing. When creating the look for the show I wanted there to be a cinematic look making sure that our woman was powerful and seductive yet with a hard glamour that enhanced the hints of leopard print throughout the collection in shades of black and grey"

You can read about the products that Georgina used and about her version of the experience here on her website, - http://georginagraham.com/2013/07/01/nicholas-oakwell-couture-autumn-winter-2013/

I also had the pleasure of attending the official fitting and makeup and hair trial day, it was incredible to see the pieces still in the making process, I've never seen more beads, leather, lace and feathers accumulated in once place before.  The level of craftsmanship was entirely breathtaking.. I guess that's why they call it Couture!

The day of the show was busy and beautiful.  We gave the girls a wonderful dark "Catwomanesque" eye using all Estee Lauder products.  I particularly loved the Ideal Light Brush On Illuminator which is quite literally, a stroke of brilliance - http://www.esteelauder.co.uk/products/642/Product-Catalog/Makeup/Face/Concealers/index.tmpl

Thank you to Georgina for including me on the experience, and a special mention to Christina, Georgina's First Assistant - who is entirely wonderful.
