Ehren Dorsey

Last year I shot Ehren Dorsey @ Next for a large publication.  The story ended up getting dropped for what ever internal reason, as happens some times, but I still really love the images.

I adore Ehren.

Tigi Masterbrands Behind The Scenes

This past week I've been shooting a campaign for Tigi.

It's the Master Brands Campaign, so will include their Bedhead, S-Factor and Catwalk ranges.

We had four days of hardcore shooting, one day briefing, and then I also ended up shooting with them again the day after.  So I make that 6 days of a Tigi-extravaganza.

There was filming, individual, group shots, solos, the lot.

I've also got some Tigi Hair Reborn products that I am super excited to try.  Hair Reborn is the newest range, I'm not sure if it's out yet for the general public but it looks incredible and I'm excited to treat my hair to something special after years of bleach, dye, and weave.

Here are some of the behind-the-scenes footage I've found floating around on Tigi's Facebook page which can be found here - https://www.facebook.com/TIGIprofessional/photos_stream

The production behind the campaign was absolutely huge, the photos don't show the magnitude of it!

Angelo Galasso AW13

The second show I worked on for LC:M was Angelo Galasso.

Makeup Assistants - Laura Marsh, Kelly Newton

Galasso held a presentation in their Knightsbridge store, next door to Harrods.  Needless to say straight after the champagne reception I headed straight there.

It was very nice to see some familiar faces, in particular Jack Guinness @ Models1, who I had met once before while working on a Markus Lupfer Presentation at a previous London Fashion Week.

The video can be seen here on the London Collections:Men website - http://www.londoncollections.co.uk/men/videos.aspx?vid=555&t=2

Vogue also was present to photograph the event, which can be seen here - http://www.vogue.co.uk/fashion/autumn-winter-2013/mens/angelo-galasso

Astrid Andersen AW13 - Vogue Feature

On Monday 7th January I keyed the Makeup for Astrid Andersen's AW13 collection at LC:M.  The show was held in the TopMan space, and we were the first collection to be shown after TopMan had finished theirs.

Astrid, Elgar and I settled on a blended out, bordering on smudged gold bottom lip.  Astrid had wet gold lips  printed on some of her items, and wanted this replicated on the mouths of the boys.  I gave the boys a nod in this direction by keeping the gold slightly matte and softening the edges.  This is a more masculine, less announced take on the structure behind a traditional painted mouth.

All makeup was sponsored by Charles Fox - Kryolan London.  We particularly liked using the Dermacolour palettes, there are some very good skin matches included in the range, especially for mixed-race, black and non-white skin tones.

Big thank you to my assistants who were wonderful on the day.

Vogue was present at the show held in the TopMan space, and wrote this review which can be found HERE - or by following - http://www.vogue.co.uk/fashion/autumn-winter-2013/mens/man-astrid-andersen

 -  "Astrid Anderson’s collection, which centred on her fascination with the bodybuilder.
“It was about dressing up more, power dressing, the idea that a bodybuilder is competing with their own image,” said the designer backstage. So we saw purple and gold contemporary sportswear: hoodies, tracksuits, dungarees in denim, blingy-printed sweatshirts, and luxury bombers with mink and fox. The boys also raided the make-up box, with a splash of gold on their lips. But that wasn’t all that Andersen had to offer – there was fashion wisdom too. Her advice to fellow young designers?
“Stick to what your gut tells you and don’t compare yourself to anyone. Do what feels right.”"

I particularly liked that Vogue gave the gold-lips a small mention "The boys also raided the make-up box, with a splash of gold on their lips".
