i-D KISS

I just shot my first Beauty Story for i-D, all inspired by KISS! (The band)

"God Gave Rock and Roll to You…..(KISS)

Make-up artist Bea Sweet creates sparkle-motion KISS-inspired beauty looks, loosely basing each girl’s look on a member of the band. Welcome to stage: Starchild, The Demon, The Catman and The Spaceman!

Here, Bea tells i-D online how to get the look, just in time for the weekend we’re all pretending it’s Halloween on…
For creating a glittery KISS look, my favourite glitters are all from MAC Pro, including 3D Gold and 3D Silver. The easiest way to apply glitter is using Vaseline (the Coco Butter version is my favourite) very sparingly, and cleaning up using Muji’s Fine Stem Cottonbuds; their slim tips allow for precise glitter removal and neat edge. You can also try scotch tape or masking tape with a low stick (you don’t want to be pulling your skin) to create those fine edges, or just use your fingers, but it will be messier! Apply the glitter first and then clean up afterwards, but always prep skin beforehand. I like to use M.A.C Prep and Prime Skin Brightening Serum, with a little M.A.C Fast Response Eye Cream dabbed around the eyes. Remember: Glam Rock doesn’t have to be scary!

Agi and Sam Womenswear Collection for Harvey Nichols - Vogue Feature

I had the pleasure of doing the Makeup for Agi and Sam's first Womenswear Lookbook that was featured on Vogue today.

Click HERE to read the Vogue feature.

The piece reads -

"MENSWEAR label Agi & Sam has launched their debut womenswear collection exclusively at Harvey Nichols. Design duo - Agape Mdumulla and Sam Cotton who hve previously shown as part of the Fashion East MAN line-up - have created seven patterned shirt, both printed and woven, made in silk twill.
"We have always hoped we could translate quite easily from mens to womenswear, but we wanted to hold out until we felt ready enough to start working with the right partner in the right way," said Mdumulla.
"Harvey Nichols is exactly the right store for us to begin the growth of Agi & Sam's womenswear collections," added Cotton.
The range reflect the aesthetic of the brand's menswear autumn/winter 2012-13 offering, which was inspired by time-travel. Colours come in turquoise, fuchsia and purple. Prices range between £270 and £400."

For Brittany's makeup, I wanted to maintain an air of natural radiance, while also introducing a wash of a warm, soft brown across the eyelids in MAC's "Wedge".

To keep the eyes light, I used MAC's Zoom Lash Mascara, a featherweight-thickness mascara, allowing you to build it's thickness or chose to stay at a natural lightness.  I used shade "Lofty Brown", allowing the eyelashes to breathe while creating a gentle definition.

I chose to use a touch of soft pink on her cheeks just on the outer edge, creating a version of the "flushed" effect.  As I wanted Brittany's skin to remain light, I chose to use a powder over a creme.  For this, I used MAC's powder blush in shade "Fleur Power".

Here is a close-up of Brittany's finished look for the collection -

I also gave Brittany a clean manicure, and finished by painting them with "San Tan-tonio" from OPI's Texas Collection for Spring/Summer 2011.

Here is a close-up of the finished nails -
